DOGS PEOPLE UNDERSTAND?
Dogs are able to make the connection between two simple ideas. However, they can not relate distant events in time. For example: if a dog flee during a tour with the owner and only return two hours later, he can not understand the punishment you receive. The animal will associate the punishment to his return, and not the fact that he remained two hours away. If the return cause a good welcome, with words of appreciation, a friendly pat or a treat, the dog will always come back, knowing that this is what the owner wants.
Dogs understand very well the more subtle behaviors of people, even if they are unconscious demonstrations of pleasure, grievance, anger, or simply, the intention to do something. After all, that is how the members of a pack communicate using body language and sounds to express their emotions. Of course, the dog can not fully understand human language: the meaning is learned mainly by the type and tone of the sound.
Canine ability to comprehend visual and audible signals is almost always used in a sophisticated manner. Is not fear that enables the training, but the desire to please. He motivates the animal to learn difficult tasks that are performed in response to certain signals, even though these data are a long distance away.
The innate behavioral characteristics of many breeds are well known. Even without training, the hounds love picking up objects with his mouth. Pointers unconsciously "point" to things that arouse your interest, even before investigating them. The sheepdogs herding like all animals, including men. The Dobermanns and Terriers have behavior watchdogs.
The owner of the dog is often seen as the animal pack leader. The protection of the house and its inhabitants against outsiders, either people or other dogs, dog's basic instinct. If an unknown man or another dog without aggression are accepted by the leader, the dog will also accept them. In the absence of the leader, however, the dog takes command of the situation and can act differently.
Occasional visitors to the territory usually have attitudes that only enhance the protective instinct of dogs. Front of the hostility of the dog, the visitor quickly flees. The dog sees this attitude as a demonstration of fear and linking the ends of the uniform postmen, for example, by their attack instantaneous leak. To solve this problem, the owner must present the dog to visitors, making him realize that that presence must be accepted.
